Delays in the turnaround are a major cause for low predictability in commercial aviation. The SESAR ConOps describes the paradigm shift towards trajectory based operations. Turnaround Integration into Trajectory And Network (TITAN) extends the view by proposing a concept of operations which integrates the turnaround of aircraft into trajectory and network based on Collaborative Decision Making (CDM) and System Wide Information Management (SWIM) principles. You can read more about TITAN here.
The first TITAN Workshop was held back in March 2010. It was a well attended event that defined the basis of the TITAN concept and provided a first opportunity for all stakeholders to contribute their particular points of view.
The Second TITAN Workshop will be held in Madrid, Spain on 22 February 2011.
Since the start of the project and the First Workshop, a lot of work has been completed, forming the basis of this second meeting to which all interested stakeholders are cordially invited.
Participants will review and discuss the TITAN Operational Concept, the Cost Benefit Analysis and the TITAN model. After lunch, the validation scenarios will be looked into and this will be followed by a brainstorming session.
This event is well worth attending. The TITAN Operational Concept brings important new insights to understanding the turnaround process. What is more, this concept has been created in a service oriented way and this is an absolute first in the context of turnaround analysis. But also the other elements, be it the CBA or the TITAN model, will serve up plenty of food for thought and present opportunities for interesting discussions.
Those who attended the first workshop and have the opportunity to participate in this follow on event will recognize how much TITAN is building on the input of the experts who are, after all, in the best position to advise the project.
The second workshop is taking place at a very important juncture of the TITAN project lifecycle. With work on the concept level having been successfully completed, attention is now turning towards making the concept reality and showing how it will benefit the various stakeholders.
This is also the time for additional expert input and hence the widest possible participation in the workshop is desirable so that stakeholders may provide the guidance they consider necessary based on the results achieved so far.
The Second TITAN Workshop is open to all interested participants. You can download the Agenda here.
The meeting will be held at the Novotel Madrid Campo de las Naciones. The link to the hotel website is here.
We urge you all to come to the workshop; this is your opportunity to influence this important project! To confirm your participation, drop an email here.
