Who moved my cheese?

By Dr. Spencer Johnson
Publisher: Random House Group Ltd.
Let’s be frank. As pilots and air traffic controllers, the last thing we would think of reading is a book coming from management consultants. A book categorised as “Personal Development” might have a small chance but would probably still get hidden when missus was around…
However, “Who moved my cheese?” a thin volume of less than a hundred pages with lots of illustrations is something worth a second look… and a third and a fourth and finally to be read from cover to cover.

Who moved my cheese?
The story is about four characters, two mice and two little people the size of mice, who are faced with unexpected change requiring them to adapt to survive in the maze they call home.
You will immediately recognize yourself, your colleagues and your neighbours and many other players in your surrounding in what the characters of the book do while striving to find their cheese…. It being the metaphor for what we want in life.
What Dr. Johnson does is make you understand yourself and those around you better while also teaching you to react  to change constructively, enabling you to find your cheese whatever happens.
Here is a book that uses simple language and simple imagery to discuss a dead serious issue: our reaction to change. After reading it, you will see change as an opportunity and not a threat.
Reading this book is worth every minute of your time.
Highly recommended!
